CLIFF SMITH

 

Cliff joined Meridian 158 in 2012 and heads our consulting practice.

 

Cliff has been active in the renewable energy field in Hawaii since 2007.  Prior to joining Meridian 158, he managed 2.4 MW of PV projects on behalf of Forest City. He  also served as Vice President of Technology at Hawaii BioEnergy LLC, a consortium of land owners and investors committed to producing biomass for power and liquid fuels in the islands.  Prior to this, he spent three years working at Maui Land & Pineapple Company Inc. in their land development division.  

 

Cliff served eight years as a Naval Officer in the Civil Engineer Corps.

 

Cliff earned an M.B.A. and M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering  with highest honors from the Georgia Institute of Technology.  He is a registered Professional Engineer in the State of California. 

PAULA LAIR

 

Paula founded Meridian 158 in 2008 with the goal of offering clients professional business analysis along with hands-on implementation. 

 

She is currently focused on new venture development for Meridian 158.

 

Prior to starting her own company, Paula specialized in product management and strategic marketing in the technology sector, working for EMC and Siebel Systems. 

 

Paula served for six years as a US Naval Officer in the Civil Engineer Corps where she managed several large scale projects at various locations around the world.

Paula earned an M.B.A. from Harvard University and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Systems Engineering from the United States Naval Academy.
